Calculating Senior Men's
Interclub
Course Handicaps
A player will not
qualify for a
Senior Men's Interclub index until he has completed 3 rounds under
this system. Once he is qualified for a Senior Men's Interclub index
the following applies:
HANDICAP
DIFFERENTIAL
For each Senior
Men's Interclub round played a "Handicap Differential" is calculated as
follows:
Handicap Differential = (Adjusted Gross Score - Course Rating) x 113 /
Slope Rating (The result is then rounded to the nearest
tenth)
ROUNDS USED IN
CALULATIONS
-
After 3 rounds
the lowest Handicap Differential is used to calculate a player's Handicap
Index
-
After 4 rounds
the two lowest Handicap Differentials are used to calculate a
player's
Handicap Index
-
After 5 rounds
the two lowest Handicap Differentials are used to calculate a
player's
Handicap Index
-
After 6 rounds
the three lowest Handicap Differentials are used to calculate a
player's
Handicap Index
-
After 7 and
subsequent rounds the oldest round is dropped from the calculations
and only a player's most recent six rounds are used as described above.
HANDICAP INDEX
The first step
required to calculate a Senior Men's Interclub handicap index is to determine
the number of handicap differentials to be used (1 min, 3 max).
See above.
The differentials
determined in step one are averaged and multiplied by .96. All
decimal numbers after the tenths digit are then dropped. This
gives a player's Senior Men's Interclub handicap index. So......
Index = (no. of
Differentials total / no. of rounds) x .96 (All decimal numbers after
the tenths digit are then dropped).
COURSE HANDICAP
A player's course handicap
is determined by multiplying his Senior Men's Interclub handicap index by the
slope rating of the course to be played and then dividing by 113.
That number is then rounded off to the nearest whole number. (.5
rounds up to the next whole number). So.....
Course Hdcp = Index
x Course Slope / 113 ( Round to nearest whole no. ) |
