March 2008

To all MSIS Addressees,

We had a great day at Osprey Cove.  The weather was perfect.  I was pleased the way everything went.  The rosters were all submitted on time.  We only had four changes to the submitted rosters and ZERO roster changes the morning of the match!  All players showed up and most of them were on time!  Yeah!

The golf course was in good shape and I had the impression that everyone enjoyed the day.  The food and beverage was head and shoulder above what we get at a lot of our clubs.  Much thanks to Team Rep, Tony DeMarco for that.

Thanks to all the people who helped out at Osprey Cove.  That includes Jason Akel (PGA Professional), Tony DeMarco (OC), Glenn Dobrick (SG)Dave Southern(OC)Roy Gulick (MP), Gordon Steadman (OC), Frank Quinby (OC), Vic Petralia(OC), Jim Brady (QH) and Keith Hansen (HH), Mike Cooper (SN).  We must also thank the faceless greens keepers and the cook and wait staff at OC.

SPEED-OF-PLAY

Pretty good.  Better than most months.

SCORECARDS

Legibility of the cards was very good this month.  In fact, it was damned good!  There were no Xs on the cards at all and ALL of the cards were turned in immediately after the match.  You guys did a great job this month.

SCORING:

We made a few errors at the scoring table this month but all were inconsequential.  All errors have been corrected and the results and handicaps shown on the web site are official.  Let me know if you spot any errors.

NEXT MONTH

ARTICLES

Articles of interest to MSIS members are accepted and will be published in this report.  Just email your article to me.  You must sign it.

I am sure that you all see or hear things at our matches that would be of interest to us all.  Funny stories about things that happen on the course.  They don't have to be the absolute truth!  Brag about a great hole you played or a great shot you hit.  Here again, you may stretch the truth.  Write them up and send them to me.  It would make this a much more interesting publication.
