To all MSIS Addressees,

I hear that we had a good day at Ponte Vedra and that the weather was very nice. The rosters were all submitted on time.  We only had a few changes to the submitted rosters, unfortunately the morning of the match there were two surprise substitute players and one no-show.  That is terrible performance and should never happen.  The Tournament Director didn't find out about the substitutes until their scorecards came in from the course!  No one said a word to him.  This is the worst possible scenario for everyone.   All 120 players get to wait while the needed changes and calculations are made at the scoring table.  This is very inconsiderate of the team involved and it should never happen.  This month was the worst possible time for this type of problem as we had a substitute Tournament Director also.  I had asked that everyone to support Roy Gulick this month.  I'm afraid we didn't do well in that area.

Thanks to all the people who helped out at Ponte Vedra.  That includes Roy Gulick, sitting in for me, Tommy Aycock (PGA Professional), Jim Bryce (PV), Jock Ochiltree (WG), Frank Mitchell (MP), Larry Von Dolteren (SN), John Pujol (QH), Mike Peacock (PV), Larry Gonzales (PV), and Jim Cardozo (MP).  We must also thank the faceless assistant pros, greens keepers, the cook and wait staff at PV.

WINNERS:

    1. Eagle Harbor, took first place with a score of 259 points.  EH was  led by 42 points from Jack McInerney followed by 40 points from Wayne Albright.

2Jax Golf & CC, was second with 258 points.  JG won a tie breaker with PV to take second place.  JG was led by Rod Fullerton's 42 point performance. Rod was supported by Wib Finch who shot a smooth 70 and gathered 41 points.  Al Boyce also provided 41 points.  This team continues to impress.  They have opened up a nice lead in the standings

ARTICLES

Articles of interest to MSIS members are accepted and will be published in this report.  Just email your article to me.  You must sign it.

I am sure that you all see or hear things at our matches that would be of interest to us all.  Funny stories about things that happen on the course.  They don't have to be the absolute truth!  Brag about a great hole you played or a great shot you hit.  Here again, you may stretch the truth.  Write them up and send them to me.  It would make this a much more interesting publication.
