SCORECARDS

You guys did a very good job with the cards this month.  I have no complaints.

We need to remember to NEVER stroke control a score.  If a player holes out give him what he took, even if it is ridiculously high.  If a player does not hole out, give him a zero (0)!  Our computers do all the stroke controlling.  If you do it, a player may get points where he doesn't deserve any.

SCORING

Thanks for all the help at Magnolia Point.  Those who helped were Roy Gulick (MP), Larry Von Dolteren (SN), Joe Power (EH)Frank Mitchell (MP), Jerry Friddle (MP), and Ed Boyer (MP).

Pre-Match Warm-Up

Gentlemen, warm-up prior to the start of our matches is a vital part of play with the real purpose being to “warm-up”.  That is NOT the time to hone our skills or to work on a new swing.  The practice area will accommodate only a small portion of our group at one time, so it is essential that we use the space and time effectively.  Let’s be considerate of others and limit our warm-up session to no more than 15-20 balls.  We then will be able to give everyone a chance to warm-up.

NEXT MONTH

Osprey Cove Golf Club, Wednesday, May 20, 2009, 9:00 am shotgun start.  The Gray tees will be used at 5812 yards.  Rating 68.8  Slope 126.

GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS

The bad: We lost our First City advertiser who had an ad on our home page for 2 or 3 years.  We saw this coming.

The good: Our very own, Tex Blinn, took out an ad for one year on the home page.  Please support Tex with your remodeling needs.

I am sure that you all see or hear things at our matches that would be of interest to us all.  Funny stories about things that happen on the course.  They don't have to be the absolute truth!  Brag about a great hole you played or a great shot you hit.  Here again, you may stretch the truth.  Write them up and send them to me.  It would make this a much more interesting publication.  Please help out.  Surely someone out there has an opinion or suggestion for the Interclub.
