Finally, warm weather. Some even wore shorts! All 15 teams and 120 players were there for this event.
It was a very nice day at St Johns. With warmer weather and a golf course that was in great shape, some very good scores were recorded.
Magnolia Point: Magnolia Point was dead last
in the previous match at Marsh Landing. This month they came back to life and swept us all aside with a nice first place finish! MP took first place with a score of 270. They were led by 49 points from Jim Cardozo, 40 points from Denny Hurst and 39 points from Frank Mitchell.
St Johns, took second place with a score of 268. SJwas led by 42 points from Billy Kirkland and 39 points from these four players: John Cresswell, Mike McCormick, Roger St. Onge, and Bob White. As a result of their good play, SJ
moved up in the standings from 7th place to 4th place
Third place was taken by
Marsh Landing with a score of 267. ML was led by 42
points from Joseph Aoki and 41 points from Don Gould. With two great events in a row, ML has moved past the field into first place in the Brady Cup standings.
The Defending Champions team from Hidden Hills, with a score of 264 was fourth. HH was led by 46 points from
Keith Hansen and 40 points from Barney Poston.

Those of you who keep your own personal calendar will want to make sure they are up-to-date. We have made two recent changes to our MSIS calendar as follows:
1) The Marsh Creek event next month has been moved to Monday, April 26 at 9 am.
2)
The Orange Park event in June has been moved to Thursday, June 24, 8:30 am.
Please change your calendars accordingly.
SCORECARDS
Your scorecards were good this month although there were a few legibility problems. Remember, you are personally responsible for your card even though someone else kept your score.
We had a two cards with Xs on them. Remember, when a player does NOT complete a hole, mark a zero (0) on the card; not an "X".
Always remember too
that you should NEVER pick-up on a hole until you have reached your maximum ESC score AND you can no longer score a point. For speed of play reasons, always pick-up at that point and enter a zero on the scorecard.
Also, NEVER stroke control your score. The computers will do that for you.
SCORING
We had a very good day with the post-match
scoring. I have detected no errors. Great!
Actual posting of scores to the scoreboard was a little slow as the computer finished about 10 - 15 minutes ahead. The wind was a hinderence to all of us.
Much thanks to all of you who helped with the scoring at St Johns. Those who worked were Glenn Dobrick SG, Larry Von Dolteren SN, John Pujol QH, Bill Gibson SJ, Mike McCormick SJ, Bob White SJ, and
Charlie Jenks SJ.
COMPUTERS and OPERATORS NEEDED
We are getting near a critical shortage of laptop owners who are willing to bring their computer to the matches and help us with the after match scoring.
If you qualify, please identify yourself to me or to your Team Rep. We offer low or no wages, a lot of pressure, on-the-job training and a nasty boss.
All kidding aside, alternatives to our computerized scoring are NOT pretty. Please come forward with your offer to help.
We also need a guy who is not playing on match day, to ride shotgun on the computer set-up. He would be there about
one hour before we finish playing golf. He would make sure the table, chairs, extension cord, and power strip are in the best position for us. Then he would power up all the computers and have the flash drives in place ready to roll. Is anyone out there interested in trying this assignment? Would any of you who are mending physically be interested? Let me know. Next match is at Marsh Creek.
NEXT MATCH
