Matches
Monthly matches, rotate among our Member Clubs and are usually held on a Monday.
Member Club teams consist of eight players each
Matches begin with a shotgun start, normally at 9:00
The host Club provides a sit-down lunch following play
Matches are played from rated tees that are closest to 6,000 yards
We play USGA net Stableford (USGA Rules of Golf Rule 32.1b) with full handicaps
Winners are determined by the total points made by the best seven of the eight team members
We award Pro Shop merchandise prizes to the first, second, third, and fourth place teams
The cost is $50 per player; which provides for golf, cart, range balls, lunch, prizes, and taxes
Rules
USGA Rules of Golf govern all play except when modified by local rules.
We play the ball down
We play the ball in the hole
Handicaps
To ensure a level playing field for our events, we maintain and use our own handicap system based solely on scores posted in Senior Interclub events.
Handicaps are determined by the best three scores of the last six scores recorded in a Senior Interclub Match
Those who haven’t played three MSIS matches must use their USGA handicap indexes
Players who use their USGA handicap indexes are limited to 38 Stableford points
The John Brady Cup
Our year-long season ends with The John Brady Cup Tournament held at a neutral site in December. To honor the prestige of this tournament, Stableford points are doubled. The season’s champion team is awarded The John Brady Cup, a commemorative trophy named for the late John Brady, a founder of the Men’s
Senior Interclub Series.
